This collection of songs is a travelogue of the human spirit.

Echoes of Dawn captures the fragility and strength of new beginnings. It moves from the personal victory of breaking free to the collective pain of war in Ukraine. It asks the hard questions about our intentions and our destiny, urging us to find the "trace of destiny" that lights up the dark.

Black Birds Finding Home is the answer to that search. It spans the globe—from the ice-cold waters of the North to the dusty roads of displacement—exploring what it means to belong. It is the sound of coming home, of finding "peace in simple signs" and rest after the storm.

From the "Morning Dew" to the evening flight of the black birds, these albums explore our shared longing for freedom, justice, and a place to call our own.

Behind the Music

The soundscape is crafted by Flemming Ostermann, a legend in Danish rock. The production mirrors the journey of the albums: Echoes of Dawn is recorded with a minimalist touch, featuring Ostermann as a multi-instrumentalist alongside Ole himself on guitar and harmonica. On Black Birds Finding Home, the sound expands with the addition of Henrik Askou on drums and percussion. This collaboration runs deep—Ostermann also produced and played on Ole Berthelsen’s debut album in 1979, marking the beginning of a lifelong musical partnership.
